Driven by a desire to create, Heather believes in the art of capturing an energy that brings people together and special moments to life. Her process is inspired by more than simple adornment, it tells a story, and is formed through history and meaning. Heather’s fascination with architecture, fashion, art, geometry, and everyday objects influence her design perspective. These designs play a delicate balancing of styles. Contemporary yet timeless. Feminine yet atypical. Each piece is an invitation to define your own beauty, a treasure you can one day pass on to become part of your story.
Heather fell in love with making jewellery while studying fine art in her hometown, Halifax, Nova Scotia. She founded her brand in 2008, after completing her goldsmithing training, and moved to Toronto shortly after. As an active member of the Canadian art and jewellery community, Heather’s works have been awarded by organizations including the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council and Toronto Arts Council. She is alumni of Harbourfront Centre’s Artist-in-Residence program.
Running her studio in Toronto’s east end, Heather creates each piece of jewellery by hand, with a commitment to protecting the delicate balance of our planet through ethical, sustainable, and responsible practices which include the use of only recycled gold wherever possible, and sourcing only conflict free stones in compliance with The Kimberley Process. Heather is committed to advancing these initiatives each year, while continuing to innovate within the jewellery industry.
